01 Program Coordinator
Position Description: Project Coordinator will lead the Government Partnership project with a cohesive integration among various stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating project activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, donors and other stakeholders, and driving the project towards its goals. This role serves as the focal point for communication and coordination, ensuring that all project elements align with the overarching goals of the Government Partnership Project.
This position is expected to have agile leadership to manage multiple priorities, adapting to change and incorporate learning in the project and managerial scope. The incumbent is expected to maintain a good coordination and collaboration with internal and relevant external stakeholders to effectively manage project. Along with this, there should be strong focus on project sustainability efforts as envisioned by the given projects and project.
This position is expected to maintain a strong professionalism and role modeling for the team and others to demonstrate integrity, accountability, passion, commitment and strong team spirit and should be able to work independently and interdependently managing every kind of situation and contexts. The major responsibilities with relevant key capabilities stated below are envisioned to be able to lead the organization meeting the expected deliverables confidently.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science/ Agriculture/ Management, or a related field. With minimum 3 years of Work Experience as a project/program lead.
- Fluency in English and Nepali (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, Google Suite, and other productivity tools).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
(Note: Candidate with the 2-wheeler license will be an advantage)
Major Roles and Responsibilities
- The Project Coordinator will support the project team by technically backstopping them on improved crop production, animal production, soil fertility management, climate smart agriculture/ livestock practices, good agricultural practices, and integrated pest management, ensuring the adoption of best agricultural practices among farmers.
- Will facilitate practical demonstrations and Farmer’s Business Schools (FBS) to promote hands-on learning of improved agronomic techniques, while also encouraging the adoption of climate-smart and sustainable farming methods such as conservation agriculture, water-efficient irrigation, and agroforestry.
- He/She will support farmer groups and cooperatives in production planning, value chain development, and establishing market linkages to enhance productivity, income generation, and long-term agricultural and livestock sustainability.
- Develop comprehensive operational calendar highlighting key milestones and financial projections, ensure the project plans are executed on time with quality.
- Ability to integrate multiple projects and cross-cutting themes to contribute to strategic objectives and Project Outcomes.
- Identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies and effective risk management in place
- Guide the team in achieving community empowerment and promote sustainability drivers with key focus on Agriculture and livestock sub-sector
- Prepare quality reporting to share with different stakeholders as per the requirements and needs
- A strong financial and supply chain management leadership to manage project effectively and stewardship principles are adhered well
- Integrated workforce management to be more strategic and effective in delivering results
- Conduct periodic review and reflection to accommodate failures and successes appropriately.
- Lead the team to manage the provided resources with efficient and responsible manner
- Conduct periodic staff performance appraisals against the set performance objectives contributing to project deliverables with proper performance management system in place
- Demonstrate strong leadership to coach, mentor and guide the Cooperative, SHGs and team in delivering their plan/tasks
- Conduct regular capacity assessment of project team and provide needful support to demonstrate better leadership
- Promote agile and strategic leadership to manage challenges, pressing priorities and multiple stakeholders’ requirements in different contexts and circumstances
- Support and encourage the team to adapt to change and also ability to accommodate new learning and guidance/requirements including the contexts such as emergencies
- Lead the team in managing validated data and information to reflect project results timely
- Support team in best utilize the provided digital platforms to input correct data and regular review and analysis of the data and information
- Strongly lead the team in maintaining integrity in data and information management
- Provide factual and accurate data and information as required by the system or requirements timely
- Produce periodic reports on project progress, M&E in order to review, analyze and make corrective measures to excel in quality delivery timely
- Develop strong coordination with local, district and provincial government to leverage the resources with appropriate means and platforms
- Convene strategic coordination and collaborations with relevant stakeholders to share the resources and produce a greater impact
- Provide strong and strategic leadership on team cohesion to avoid conflict and promote encouraging and conducive working environment
- Manage effective communication and coordination with staff, PNGO board and all relevant stakeholders to manage Project effectively.
2 Accountant
The Accountant will be responsible for overall financial management of NGO in accordance with the legal requirements, donor policies and applicable accounting standards. He/she will also be responsible for regular mentoring of cooperatives with respect to financial management and governance strengthening.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, supported, approved and coded in SMART software, and that all cheque books, cheque list, petty cash, LOAs are maintained correctly
- Ensure full compliance to Heifer policies and donor polices
- Ensure proper accounting of Catalytic leverage funds
- Ensure timely payroll processing
- Manage bank accounts and balances including undertaking monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow management in a timely manner.
- Scrutinize plans, budgets, and financial reports;
- Prepare monthly reporting to HPN/Local Government
- Ensure that Organization is compliant with all legal requirements regarding taxation, returns, fees and other financial statutory requirements.
- Prepare budget vs expenditure report and share it to project team on monthly basis during staff meeting
- Prepare for and collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit.
- Maintain well organized physical and electronic archive of financial documentation stretching back at least five years in secure location.
Academic Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of bachelor’s degree and 2 years working experience in the related field. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
